OUR VALUES

Respect:

Everything we do is built on a foundation of understanding and respect for the values, beliefs, knowledge, and capabilities of our staff, our local partners, and the people we serve.

Courage:

We go where others often won’t among the most marginalized populations, in the most challenging environments, and in the hardest-to-reach regions and do what others often don’t confront obstacles head-on and challenging the status quo to achieve our mission

Collaboration:

We embrace diverse perspectives and disciplines, joining with partners at the local, national, and global levels towards a common vision and the realization of transformational change.

Innovation:

Our staff and partners seek out the most effective solutions, piloting new approaches and adapting current practices to respond to the ever evolving nature of our work and the communities we serve.

Integrity:

We earn the trust of donors, partners, governments, and the people we serve by rigorously measuring performance, sharing our results, and holding ourselves accountable.

We work:

Where the need is greatest. We work throughout the world to ensure people can make free and informed decisions about their bodies and futures.

OUR VISION

OUR HOPE COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATION (OHCBO)NGO envisions a world where everyone has access to health services, contraception, where there are zero new HIV infections, where no woman dies from preventable pregnancy-related complications, where everyone leads a healthy sexual and reproductive life, where everyone is free from poverty, where every child has access to education, where everyone has access to WASH, where rights of women and girls are reserved and protected, where women and youth are empowered and where everyone supports the elderly.

OUR MISSION

We champion HIV prevention, poverty eradication, advocacy, empowerment, capacity building, sexual and reproductive health and rights, mobilizing communities most in need to break through barriers and forge their own path to a healthier future.

How to Support

Thank you for your interest in supporting OUR HOPE and our work to free Uganda from the burden of poverty, diseases, GBV, discrimination…. There are numerous opportunities to support OUR HOPE depending on your area of interest. The following are typical opportunities to support OUR HOPE programmes: Supporting clinical care for patients enrolled in Government Health facilities: We ensure everyone gets free treatment and care and over 10,000 patients (whom we call “friends”) benefit. We welcome donations to help us to; acquire materials, drugs and to pay health workers who treat our friends.
Supporting our friends in the OUR HOPE referral centres/clinics: OUR HOPE friends (including over 800 caregivers of children (1200) living with HIV, 1400 adolescents and 6,000 women) are often from a disadvantaged background and many of them are unemployed. We welcome donations to support our friends to acquire information to live healthier lives (for example through providing resource centre materials and equipment), to acquire skills (for example through providing training and apprenticeship opportunities) to access credit and to start small businesses (for example by guaranteeing micro loans and/or providing seed capital).
We train over 270 health professionals every year: You can sponsor an individual or a group of individuals with no access to alternative funding to attend our training courses or you may opt to sponsor a training course.
